Web Hosting

CBC's Web Hosting services are dedicated to select Consulting and Web development clients and include secure site services (SSL) for e-commerce web developments located on our secure servers.

The TurnKey Project approach we offer to business clients provides CBC online servers for web site market and database testing for a thirty-day period. Test marketing sites against technical and electronic marketing objectives established in the planning stage gives you an real edge in receiving an operable system from the first day - no costly hourly charges after delivery for bugs to be worked out.

The TurnKey approach with initial hosting provided by CBC gives clients - without hosting capability at the outset - a period for integrating their new electronic marketing program - a chance to learn its "flow." Using a "virtual domain" Website on our Windows NT platforms provides an environment exclusively for your company and seamless transfer within hours of your decision to move the site to a server of your choice.

Clients choosing to retain CBC's web hosting services beyond the project testing period have four levels of NT hosting choices: Standard, Basic SQL, and Advanced. CBC's Basic SQL and Advanced hosting services include the use of Microsoft's SQL Server in support of the Website.

Top(NOTE: CBC is primarily a "Microsoft" shop using Windows NT for its server platforms. By extension CBC's client-server web site development and maintenance also uses Microsoft products to take advantage of integration from BackOffice and Visual Interdev to Front Page, Access and SQL server for databases.)

TopDomain Name Registration Service

For businesses wishing a presence or to conduct business on the Internet, you'll want a domain name.

A company with a registered domain name has the option of using the name in their e-mail address of user@yourdomain.com and a web site address of www.yourdomain.com. CBC can help you create your Internet name or transfer an existing name.

If you need help in choosing a domain name we'll help you select one. With so many businesses already on the Internet, many names are already taken. We'll assist in developing a list of choices and check to see which are available. (Requested names are subject to availability and previously established trademarks.) We will submit your selection to the Internet Network Information Center, more commonly called the Internic or NIC. It takes about a week for your name to be registered. We will notify you when your new name arrives.

If you wish CBC to search and register a domain name for you it is $25 to to do so.  In addition, the Internic charges $70 for the first two years and $50 per year thereafter for maintenance of your domain name.  They (Network Solutions) will bill you directly.

LAN Access

CBC is dedicated to empowering small businesses to host their own sites. As Internet presence and electronic marketing becomes more pervasive controlling and hosting one's own web sites will become axiomatic. Toward that end CBC's objective is assist small business owners to scale-up to installing, or dedicating a server to web hosting. We can help plan the transfer and arrange for DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) installations - the hands down winner for economical, small company connections to the Internet for access and small company web hosting (above).

DSL, however, is not yet widely available. Alternative choices are for CBC to temporarily host your site pending a DSL service area expansion (see DSL team links for providers and their service area schedules). An alternative is to use what is becoming outmoded economically, modem, ISDN or dedicated frame relay connections for servers. Advances notwithstanding, choices depend primarily on your performance requirements, the size of your network, and what your schedule is for hosting your own web site - the inevitable alternative.

If DSL is not available, or not your choice we can help with LAN connections which require either a high speed modem or a router with the appropriate phone line. See our Consulting Fee Plans for costs of a basic setup package (as little as $500) includes ordering your phone line and providing router configuration templates to assistance with on-site web server integration into your LAN. This Up and Rolling setup coordinates with vendors like PacBell and Covad and backbone ISPs like Concentric.
