Domain Name Registration Service

For businesses wishing a presence or to conduct business on the Internet, you'll want a domain name.

A company with a registered domain name has the option of using the name in their e-mail address of user@yourdomain.com and a web site address of www.yourdomain.com. CBC can help you create your Internet name or transfer an existing name.

If you need help in choosing a domain name we'll help you select one. With so many businesses already on the Internet, many names are already taken. We'll assist in developing a list of choices and check to see which are available. (Requested names are subject to availability and previously established trademarks.) We will submit your selection to the Internet Network Information Center, more commonly called the InterNIC or NIC. It takes about a week for your name to be registered. We will notify you when your new name arrives.

CBC charges you $50 to register a domain name.  In addition, the InterNIC charges $70 per year thereafter for maintenance of your domain name.  They will bill you directly -- you do not pay CBC for the InterNIC changes.

Up.jpg (849 bytes)Do I need to advertise my Web page?

There are over 50 million sites listed for Search on the Internet used by approximately 50 million people - including those utilizing primarily E-mail only.

Internet messages don't jump out to anyone, they have to want to search for it and know how to look for it. You may find products and services improperly indexed and potential customers not able to find your site.

It is critical that a Web site be advertised both off and online. A URL should be printed on all collateral material as well as listing your site with all possible search engines and business directories - a good start are the sites noted above.

Advertising efforts traditionally needed to reach as many potential customers as possible - billboards, print ads, television, radio spots. Successful ads placed a premium on delivering short, memorable messages into small spaces or available time slots. Now, with Internet marketing, you can target specific groups, provide more detail with company-specific promotional material. To do this requires a multi-faceted marketing program, customized on demand, interactive -- not one-way, narrow content, inflexible, broadcast. The need now is to develop a successful program of interactive information distribution for communicating with customers - a foundation for transforming traditional marketing into a new interactive style of marketing.

Do I need a new business plan?

A company's electronic marketing efforts should be directed by a business plan that projects revenues, expenses and earnings. Online marketing actions should be based on research and an understanding of how online markets will work for your business. CBC Communications Corp. Consultants can provide you with an integrated, strategic plan, and recommend implementation approaches to reach your audience.
