Kenneth L. Robinson, Finacial Services From 1987 through 1990, Robinson was executive vice president and controller of NYSE-listed Mercury Savings and Loan Association, a Southern California-based savings and loan institution. He was responsible for all regulatory and SEC reporting, MIS, cost accounting and budget planning. In this period Robinson also served as the active chairman of Western Financial Printing, a $10-million specialty printing company. Previously, Robinson was CFO at United California Savings Bank. He was the principal participant in negotiation for and purchase of a $1.5-billion loan service package that was sold 24 months later for a $12 million gain. Robinson also worked as corporate controller at United before assuming the CFO function. During the 1970s, Robinson was an audit principal and manager at then Arthur Young & Company in Orange County, Calif. There he obtained franchising exposure as audit manager for several years, working nearly full-time on the then emerging Century 21 franchising operation. He is a graduate of California State University at Fullerton, where he obtained a BA in Accounting in 1971 and an MBA in Finance in 1973. Robinson currently runs his own management consulting firm, Profit Partners, which assists clients in expense management and acts as a consultant to financial services companies regarding issues of general profitability. |
